DART
Options
Chart
Theme
Chart theme includes the charts colours and
includes the chart frame and legends.
Colour
Palette
The colour palette is the colours used in the
charts series, use the Preview Charts
button to see how the Chart Theme/Palette will look.
Show
menu buttons on chart/data screen
Show or hide DART menus icons in the menu bar for
the Charts and Data Views.
DART
Export Folder
Default folder where DART exports and Excel
spreadsheets are created.
Excel
Personal Macro Workbook
Point this to your Excel Macro workbook if you
would like DART to load it when launching data in Excel.
Database
Select the source database where DART will look
to report from, this could be an existing SQL Server database, data created via
DVerto or a Madics in Access MDB file.
Only SQL
Server 2005 and MS Access databases are supported.
CSV imports
via Madics/
Settings
Ignore
tables/views starting with
Any tables or views in the source database
starting with this is ignore and not available for selection, this defaults to Temp_
Numeric decimal placing
How to show numeric values and decimal places in
the Chart and Data Views, you have the option to show these as true values or
rounded to zero decimal places (with or without commas), you also have an option
to force all numeric values to one or two decimal places, but please be aware all
values will use these decimal placing options so for example numeric accounting
periods that will normally have no decimal places will show as 3.00 instead of
3.
Enable DART Work Tables for Chart/Data Views
If enabled this allow you to create work tables
in the backend/source database these are based on the selection criteria of the
Charts and Data Views, these can be refreshed at any time or over night using
DVerto, these are recommend if the source data table is very large and take a
while each time to extract the required information. Please check you have permission to create tables in the database with
your SQL Server administrator before enabling.
Basic/Adv grid records decider
This decides based on how many records are to be
displayed if we default to a Basic
data view or the Enhanced data view,
the basic view is far faster as it does no line totaling and reads the data as
you request it, where the enhanced will
read and total up any numeric values.
Enable Data Snap Shot
If enabled you can create a new static Chart/View
Snapshot from the data displayed in the Data View, this is useful say at the
end of the months if you was a static snap shot of your stock values etc. Again please check you have permission to
create tables in the database with your SQL Server administrator before
enabling.
Snapshot table prefix
All Data snapshot tables are created/prefix with
this so can easily be recognised in the SQL Database as Snapshots.
Table Types Listed
Select what type of SQL server Tables and Views
to list and report on, you can show All Type or just Table or View.
Pre-Database Processing
Used for manually importing CSV into DART or
launching the DVerto from with in DART, normally set to None.
You need to enable DART
multi user mode on each DART client install, to do this go into DART Settings
and select the Multi User Mode setting and enable/tick the Multi User
environment.
The Multi user mode setting are only available once
DART has been licensed.
First time around you will
need to created a shared folder on your network accessible by all DART users,
and then copy the local version of your DART.db to the shared network/server folder,
from this point on the server DART.db will be used and no the local version,
once set you will need to exit and relaunch DART for the changed database to
take effect.
For this
example copy DART.db from:
C:\Documents
and Settings\{Login Name}\My Documents\My
DART Saves\DART Application Data
to the
\\madics03\Madics\Shared DART folder.

Once set or changed, please close down and restart DART for the
changes to take effect.
The default admin password
is: admin.
Go back in Setting -> Multi
User Mode, If you would like DART security to go down to field level, eg. some
users can see Cost fields and other not etc you will need set/edit the Field
Security, we recommend first leaving them as they were defaulted.
If you do not want to setup
and go right down to field level security enable/tick the Disable all field
security box.

If you have disabled the
field level security you can skip this next part, otherwise you will need to
select each table in turn and set the field security level, Level 1 for
General, up to Level 5 Sensitive data later you will set users to a certain
security level.
All fields default to
Sensitive, The quicked way to set these is click on the Set All Level 1 button and then manually assign any cost/sensitive
data fields etc after.

Now you are ready to setup
the user logins by selecting Settings -> Users

Click new users and set the
following fields:
The User Type options are:
·
Administrator
– Access to DART Settings.
·
Normal
User – Able to edit/create charts etc.
·
Read
Only – Only able to view and not amend pre-created charts.
Field Level – is based on
what fields the user can see and have access to, based on your field criteria
you set earlier.
The disable creation of new
charts/view does what it says, and does not allow users to create new charts
and views, this maybe useful if you set the user type to Normal but do not want
them to create new charts/view etc, just amend existing ones.

Now click the Edit Table
Access Permissions button, here click the tables the users have access to, if
the user does not have access to a table/view then it will now show in the list
when creating a new chart/view, they will also be unable to open any charts
linked to the table.

Save and exist and and OK to
save the new users.
New charts and views by
default are only available to the user who created them. (Unless you login as
admin then all are available).
To share a Chart or Data
View with other users go into My
Chart/Views select the Chart/View you wish to share and select the Share
Icon, you will see all shared Charts/Views have a highlighted Icon next to
them.
To un-Share right click on
the Chart/View and select the UnShare Option.
